2025 Women United Grants Application

Women United supports the efforts of Siouxland non-profit organizations to address the needs of some of the most vulnerable children in our community through two types of funding:

• Program Grant requests of $500 - $2,499 are made as one-time awards with a focus on specific needs.  Examples include, but are not limited to, supplies, equipment, books, technology, etc.  Funds must be expended within one year of the grant award.  Semi-annual progress reports are required.

• Brighter Future Grant requests of $2,500 - $50,000 can be made to support new, ongoing, or expanding programs that address issues related to the well-being of children.  Examples include but are not limited to, programs that address childhood poverty, education, literacy, safety, and health.  Funds must be expended within one year of the grant award, quarterly progress reports are required.

Women United funding awards are program and project driven.  Therefore, funding is awarded to proposals that members believe have the best chance to address the most urgent needs of children in the Siouxland community.  Indirect expenses such as endowments, administrative salaries, overhead costs, and facility purchases/expansion or leasing costs are not eligible for Women United funding.

APPLICATION CRITERIA:

1.  Applicants may apply for one of the grant opportunities (not both). 

2.  Applicants must be non-profit agencies located and operating in Woodbury County, IA, Dakota County, NE, or Union County, SD.

3.  Programs must enhance the quality of life for local children and youth ages birth to 18 years old.

4.  Deadline for grant submission is 12:00 pm (noon) on December 10, 2024. 

5.  Grant awards will be announced in March 2025.
