Volunteers are the heart of United Way. The time and talent provided by community members allows us to expand our outreach, maximize results and build a network to support our community. The Loaned Executive Program is a unique professional development opportunity for Siouxland volunteers looking to further their career and give back to our community.
Each year the Loaned Executive team plays a pivotal role in the success of the United Way of Siouxland's fundraising campaign.
Loaned Executives confirm the support of approximately a dozen local organizations with a history of supporting United Way by making sure they are thanked for their past support, informed about the positive impact they are helping make possible through United Way, and asked to continue their commitment to the campaign.
Volunteers participate in a one-hour training session in late July and can expect to spend 1-2 hours/week through November contacting accounts and confirming support.
The Loaned Executive Program provides:
A fantastic opportunity to network! Meet like-minded business professionals and gain exposure to a range of organizations within the Siouxland region.
- Professional Development Skills including public speaking, sales techniques and team work as well as an overall growth in confidence.
- Awareness of the issues affecting the Siouxland community, including tours and in-training presentations.

Examples: social media help, creating graphics for social media and/or other projects, and volunteers who have gone out to our partners in order to write feature stories about the great work they are doing in order to share with our donors.
