A Campaign Executive is responsible for confirming the support of 5-10 local organizations supporting United Way by making sure they have all the materials they need to run an employee campaign and work with company coordinators to improve their campaign. There is also a new accounts team dedicated to inviting companies currently not involved in supporting United Way through the annual campaign. Volunteers participate in a one hour training session in late July and can expect to spend 1-2 hours/week through November contacting accounts and confirming support. Volunteers are assigned to a focus teams – Education, Income, or Health - and are responsible for evaluating partner agency applications in order to determine the level of impact that is being made in our community. Next, volunteers will make funding level recommendations based upon the scored impact. Community impact volunteer training takes place in mid-February during even years. Since we operate on a two year funding cycle, volunteers are only asked to evaluate programs every other year. The time commitment for this opportunity is approximately 20 hours. Women's Power Lunch
Our annual luncheon event is held each April and features an inspirational female keynote speaker and raffle. The event proceeds are used to fund scholarships for single parents. This event is possible thanks to a committee of over 25 women who volunteer their time. New volunteers interested in helping with this event are welcome. Volunteer roles include: assisting with media, decoration design, making menu choices, Power of the Purse raffle, VIP reception planning and assistance the day of the event. The committee meets monthly primarily November-April for one-hour noon meetings at United Way. Contact Aaron Beutler
Special Events Committee
This committee helps with securing a location, deciding on a theme and/or decorations, and food for three events each year: the Top 50 event for our top supporting companies in July, the annual United Way campaign kickoff in August, and the A.S. Garretson Event, a thank you event for our leadership donors in October. For more information contact Amber Sherman.
This United Way affiliate group is dedicated to enhancing the lives of Siouxland youth. Siouxland women are welcome to join by contributing a membership fee in addition to current support of United Way. This leadership group uses membership fees to fund projects selected by the group. The annual membership drive is held each fall. Contact Amber Sherman.
Young Leaders Society
This United Way affiliate group is open to anyone under the age of 40 donating $250 or more to the annual campaign. This leadership group is dedicated to making our community better through philanthropy, volunteerism, and advocacy. They host fundraising events such as annual golf outing and sports equipment drive. Other benefits include invitations to exclusive events throughout the year. Contact Amber Sherman.

Examples: social media help, creating graphics for social media and/or other projects, and volunteers who have gone out to our partners in order to write feature stories about the great work they are doing in order to share with our donors.
