2018 Women's Power Lunch
Thank you to everyone who came out to the 2018 Women's Power Lunch! The keynote speaker was Amy Robach. Robach is an anchor with Good Morning America and has travelled across the globe covering major news events, including the terrorist bombings in Brussels and the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub. In 2015 Robach wrote "Better: How I let Go of Control, Held On To Hope, and Found Joy in My Darkest Hour" a New York Times bestseller about her journey with breast cancer.
Women's Power Lunch was held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Delta Hotels Center. The luncheon was proceeded by a VIP Reception at 10:30 a.m. where guests were able to meet Robach and have a photo taken with her.
Make a donation to the Single Parent Scholarship fund
Proceeds raised from the annual United Way of Siouxland's Women's Power Lunch are used to fund a scholarship program for qualifying single parents in our community.
The program is in partnership with Women Aware to assist single parents who are raising children and working to further their education to improve their life and the lives of their children. Awards typically range from $1,000 - $5,000.
Qualifications for the scholarship include:
- High school diploma or GED
- Single head of household where children age 18 or younger reside
- Siouxland resident for the last two years
- Working full or part-time is highly encouraged
- Must be taking a minimum of six credit hours per semester
